Give Me The Content
I want to talk to you guys this week about CONTENT.
I see so many of you struggling with making and creating “The Right” content. You get lost in thinking that the song, the video, the podcast or the post have to be “Right” or “Perfect” tog et people to engage. You couldn’t be further from the truth.
Fact is that people want content and they aren’t focused on the quality of your content, but more so the quantity and frequency. You are trying to grow an engaged fan base and the only way to do that is by actually engaging your existing and potential fans often.
Stop focusing on trying to get that one piece of content right, but instead focus on creating more content to engage with them. The more content you have the longer you will hold that person’s attention. If you direct someone to your YouTube page and you have 1 video, they are going to watch your video, maybe, then they are on to something else that grabs their attention.
We live in a day and age where people want to be constantly entertained. If you are not supplying the entertainment, they will simply move on and most of the time completely forget about you, UNLESS, you have the quantity of content to satisfy their curiosity and keep their attention on you.
I encourage you to focus on creating a strategy of content creation that aims more toward the quantity instead of the quality. I’m not saying make bad content, I’m saying that if you are truly talented at what you are doing, whatever content you are creating should always be quality.
In the case of social media, if you aren’t posting 5-10 times a day or more, you are irrelevant and your posts are being buried in a sea of other influencers who are posting a ton and grabbing the attention of your existing and potential fans.
From a YouTube standpoint, you should be uploading a minimum of 3 pieces of content per week to direct people to.
This boils down to being ever-present. If you aren’t, there are plenty of people out there that are taking the time to understand and apply the quantity over quality method. It is hard to get and hold someones attention these days, so if you are going to enter into this race for attention, be prepared that when/if you should get it, you don’t give them a reason to go somewhere else.
